Beginners Guide: How to use Zerodha Pi scanner

Zerodha Pi scanner is a Real-time stock scanner software that is built into the official Zerodha Pi trading terminal.

This is available free of charge along with your Zerodha trading account.

How to start using the Zerodha Pi Scanner with another example ?

After you login on your Zerodha Pi trading terminal you can access the scanner tool from the ALERTS menu on your toolbar.

You click the SCANNER menu and a new window opens up on the Pi software.

Select NEW SCANNER and input the scanner settings.

NAME = 5min volume breakouts.

THE blank space below the name is where you enter the TRADESCRIPT CODE for the scanner.

CLOSE > OPEN AND VOLUME > REF(VOLUME,1) * 10

PERIODICITY = MINUTES ( scanning interval )

BAR INTERVAL = 5 ( candle time frame )

DAYS = 5 ( back fill data )

Click OK to save your new scanner settings.

Going back to your Pi software.

Now, next to the SCANNER NAME select the name of the scanner which you have just created from the drop down menu, as in our example it will be “5min volume breakouts”

Click the LOAD option to make your scanner LIVE.

You will see a list of stocks now loaded on your screen on which the scanner is active.
