Please note that in order to transfer shares from Demat A to Demat B, you need to log into the CDSL Easiest platform using Demat A as your primary (login) account. Similarly, to transfer shares from Demat C to Demat A, you must log in using Demat C as the primary account. If you wish to transfer from Demat C to Demat A and you haven’t already registered Demat C on CDSL Easiest, you’ll need to set up a new CDSL Easiest account with Demat C as the primary account. Whichever account you log into will be treated as the “From” account, and you can link multiple “To” accounts under that primary account for easy transfers.
CDSL has implemented an extra authentication layer for transferring shares between your own demat accounts via the OFF-Market Transaction Type. Now, CDSL mandates linking your own FROM and TO demat accounts using the BO Linking Setup feature available on its platform.
Active link between the seller and buyer BO does not exist. If you are seeing this error on the CDSL Easiest platform, it means that you have not yet linked your FROM and TO demat accounts. Follow these steps to link them:
To link your own FROM and TO demat accounts using the BO Linking Setup on the CDSL Easiest platform, follow these step-by-step instructions:
Step 1: Log in to CDSL Easiest
Visit the CDSL Easiest website and log in using your credentials. On the Dashboard, make sure your FROM Demat Account is selected correctly (Screenshot 1).
Step 2: Navigate to BO Linking
- Click on the
Transactiontab. - Select
BO Linkingfrom the dropdown menu.
Step 3: Select BO Linking Setup
Click on BO Linking Setup to begin the process of adding a beneficiary account. (Screenshot 2)

- In the
Enter Buyer BOfield, input the demat account number of the account you wish to transfer shares to. - In the
Enter Buyer PANfield, enter the PAN number associated with the beneficiary account.
Step 5: Verification Process
After submitting the details, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the linking process.
Step 6: Completion
Once the above steps are completed, your beneficiary details will be linked, allowing you to use the Easi/Easiest facilities for share transfers.
